Bayside Sports School Dads Cricket Championship
Bayside Sports City Cricket Championship

Bayside Sports pioneered the idea of bringing adults back to sport and the first sport we took on in this cricket-crazy country was – you guessed it, Cricket!

In 2013, the co-founders of Bayside Sports Vishal and Kyan were coaching children at cricket when they saw a father of one of their students giving his child sound and solid technical advice on the field. Impressed by this, the founders began chatting with the dad and they soon realized that he was an avid cricketer who played a decent level of club cricket as a college student and a young adult but soon life took over and his responsibilities changed. Cricket took a backseat as his job and family were naturally prioritized. The founders began thinking of ways to bring this man back to the sport, initially considering giving him some “nets sessions”. But this wasn’t going to do it.

So they came up with the idea of bringing this gentleman back to the game by having him play competitive cricket FOR HIS SON’S SCHOOL TEAM! The idea started as an experiment in 2013 with 4 teams and season after season the number of teams doubled only via word of mouth, to the extent that in its 6th season (2018), the Bayside Sports School Dads Cricket Championship now has 40+ active “Dads Teams” that play the tournament only in Mumbai!

So, if you are a School Dad who is 33 years old and above, and an avid cricketer who wants to take the field and compete once again then look no further as this is the perfect tournament for you! The Bayside Sports School Dads Cricket Championship is an interschool T-20 cricket tournament where School Dads form a squad of 15-17 players and represent their child’s school! This tournament has witnessed remarkable performances from eminent Mumbai schools such as Cathedral John and Connon School, Queen Mary’s School, Bombay Scottish, Jamnabai Narsee School, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, JBCN International School, Beacon High School, Gopi Birla Memorial, Aditya Birla World Academy, Oberoi International School, Ascend International School, Bombay International and many others. This tournament is played across stand-alone professional floodlit cricket grounds such Air India (Kalina), Central Railway Ground (Parel) and others in the city in a league and knockout stage format. All players are given personalised jerseys and can be provided with other customised accessories and coaching assistance on request.
