Badminton
Badminton was first played in Greece, China, and India, and it is closely related to the old children’s game called - 'battledore and shuttlecock'. Fun fact - Badminton is actually derived directly from Pune or 'Poona' as it was known back in the time, and was played by British army officers stationed in India in the 1860s. We can see how far it has come today with the rise of athletes like P.V Sindhu and Saina Nehwal.

The first Bayside Sports Badminton Championship saw participation from over 250 athletes! We had Open category tournaments for Men (33+), Women (25+) and even had Mixed Doubles which saw participation from over 100 teams.

We hope to have an even bigger tournament in the future and hope that we see a lot more participation as well !
